Irving Berlin wrote more popular songs, show tunes and movie hits than anyone in Tin Pan Alley history. Enjoy his greatest hits here from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone and Fred Astaire. CD 1 1. Let s Face The Music And Dance ~ Fred Astaire 2. Always ~ Ella Fitzgerald /5(59).

Scarf up a used copy when there is a cheap one available. Good quality recordings from Sony. Sony would do well to re-release these recordings. Maybe as part of a multi-disc Irving Berlin collection. 3. Say It Isn't So - Sung by Connee Boswell was my introduction to Connee Boswell's voice. For that alone, this album was a stand-out experience /5(9).

Well, that's their loss. Berlin was one of the earliest songwriters to create what became "The Great American Songbook" a term used to describe scores of songs by early and midth century lyricists and composers of pop and Broadway tunes. Mr. Berlin /5(4).
