"Banks of the Ohio", also known as "Down on the Banks of the Ohio", is a 19th-century murder ballad, written by unknown authors, in which "Willie" invites his young lover for a walk during which she rejects his marriage proposal. Once they are alone on the river bank, he murders the young woman.

Jul 07,  · There's every reason to assume that the name "Super Hits" and the Pop Express Band identity on this Turnover album provides a direct connection with the then recent Polymax set - and so we can link the two labels and view this "Super Hits" album as installment number 6. There must be a back story here, though we don't know the full details.

Lastly, on the sister label, Turnover, there is another album called “Super Hits”, where the Pop Express Band are once again credited. This LP, unlike the others, emerged in and might be the last one released on the label.

James Last (Hans Last, * April 17, in Bremen, † June, 9, in Florida) was a German composer and big band leader with a large fan base in Europe and world-wide. Last's trademark was arranging pop hits in a big-band style; his series of "party albums" is equally well-known.

Banks Of The Ohio. I asked my love to take a walk Just a walk a little way And as we walk, oh, may we talk All about our wedding day Only say that you’ll be mine In our home we’ll happy be Down beside where the waters flow On the banks of the Ohio. I held a knife against her breast.
